Do you realise that if you get into trouble someone has to come out to rescue you. It is not worth the risk.  I have lost count of the number of times I have been called out because some idiot wanted to go fishing in rough weather. Not worth risking your life or boat. Best to stay on shore.

Shows you are not experienced enough nor confident to do it therefore stay on shore a hundred meters is a long way when your upside down in cold rough seas, saftey bay can still have some big breakers espescially for a little dinghy
as iceman says people have to put themselves at risk to help people who do stupid things.

Mate I went out in cockburn sound yesterday it was only 15knts northerly and was as rough as anything. I was soaking wet and I had only got about 70m from the boat ramp. If I was in a tinny I'd be crapping myself but lucky I was on the jetski and had some monouverability to dodge the bigger waves. Alot of this wind will be SW and safety bay will be copping it all full on. The only place I can think of that will be a little bit protected is to the rightside of the garden island Bridge but even the. It's only shallow water and hardly worth risking it. Have a shore bash at the grain terminal in kwinana, right infront of the mussel farm, heard that can get good for pinks, mulloway and tailor in rough weather. Don't risk it mate

no fish is worth you life i wouldnt go out espicaly in a dingy if it was a big boat then you prbabaly could but not a dinghy i dont recon

Mate just go out after the storms when it's calmer, the snapper will still be around. Certainly not wise to head out in bad weather ever, especially in such a small boat!

well thanks for all your answers but i recon i can do it i mean its not a place for waves and guys i have seen the weather why do you think im going for snapper and i have doen it a fair bit of times and the spot im going to is a bit blocked off by the wind but ill wait and see

If you are stupid enough to go out and risk your life go for it but don't cry out for help when you get in trouble.

The local commander of sea rescue can stop his crew going out to rescue you if he deems it unsafe because of the condition. On a couple of occasions I have had to make that decision and each time luckily the persons in need of help managed to get themselves ashore after their boats were wrecked. My first responsibilities are for my crew and rescue vessel, you come next and your boat doesn't even get a mention. If you break down its a courtesy having your boat towed in not a right, your safety not the boats is what matters.
