So ..... If you had some spare cash and spare time .....

To cut a long and boring story short, I'm a bit of a sad prick at the moment.
Spearfishing trip for 2 or 3 days. 4 Blokes and a 21ft Bayliner Trophy. More gear than you'd know what to do with ( almost an All the gear, No idea thing )
Where would you head from K-Town ? Exmouth is an obvious one. Fortescue ? 40 Mile ? Geraldton ?
Really don't have any grounds outside of Karratha - been to Exmouth a couple of times south of the marina but have NFI about what the weather and tides are doing at this time of year. Wouldn't say I was successful at either of my attempts either.
Suggestions and discussion is encouraged. !!

Sounds perfect CCC. Problem
Sounds perfect CCC. Problem being never been there, Would have no clue about what to expect weather wise. Would have to find some ground and somewhere to make camp. Not discounting it - just think I'd have to know more about it before taking the plunge. Of course if anyone was doing the trip anyway I'd be up for it !!

Weather is generally pretty
Weather is generally pretty good this time of year... you're not really going to get it much better than March/April/May. Boat that size is fine to take out to the monties. Trust me when I say that it's not hard to find good diving ground at the Monties, just make sure you stay out of the sanctuary zones (available from the DEC website).

You could look at going down
You could look at going down to the Mackeral Islands off Onslow not to far to travel. Weather wise I guess it depends how soon you look like going should be pretty good for the rest of the week. The tides are just coming off the neaps atm into springs. You could get a boat that size in at fortescue or 40 mile and head out around the Reganards or Steamboat Islands down that way as well.

Steep point
Launch the boat at Denham and camp on the beach in behind Steep Point.
You are sheltered from the winds for this time of the year, plenty of fish not far out off the point that you don't or shouldn't have to search for. Crays in around the bottom of Dirk Hartog along with plenty of baldies to snare or hit with a straight hook.
Weather forecasts can be received from the ranger or Shark Bay sea rescue on VHF 16 if you want to troll out wide for a billfish

Thanks for the suggestions
Thanks for the suggestions guys, Obviously some that I hadn't thought of in Shark bay and the Mackerals. Would be interested in steep point, haven't been there for years, and never in/with a boat. In reality looking at going at the end of the month, I think the tides are pretty good the first weekend in March.
WIll bury my head in some reading material and see what aI can come up with.

I understand you guys saying
I understand you guys saying that I've got everything at my front door step, And believe me when I tell you I have some ripper places to go for a fish. It's more about everyone involved needing a break, Letting their hair down for a few days and being somewhere different - and all for different reasons.
Allrounder - I truely don't need anymore gear. In fact at times I think my skills aren't worthy of the equipment I've bought !!
