well any where in cockburn
well any where in cockburn sound around the weed bed will be good.
around GI is a good bet. the weed beds around mangles bay is good. well any where in the sound where there is clear water depth from 2-6ish meters and weed beds with sand in between should hold squid. if u get one drift a little further then u should get another then another that mean u located the school and remember where that mark is and go back round and drift it again. but remeber to drive to the side of ur spot and up wind a bit then drift again coz if u drive through the spot the squid will be spooked and they will shut down.
wat type of jigs will u be using?
cheers danno

good idea withthe baited
good idea withthe baited one.
colour where to start. everyone has a different one, it changes buy the day, green, pink, blue, orange are the standard colour which work. then there is the browns, blue/silver mix, and all sorts of different colours that look natural. my advice would be to buy a few different sizes and different colours. my favourite atm is 3.0 size and either pink or orange.
pink and orange for dull days so they stand out more and get the squids attention.
and then the greens and blues on bright days. but lik i said if pinks not working go to orange and if thats not working got blue and if thats not working go green and if thats not working drop jig size and try again. and if u dont get them with in a few drifts go to another weed bed and try agian. i would start with a 3.0 then if the drifts fast 3.5 but if the drift is slow 2.5 or lower.
i hope i havent confused u..
cheers

The beach on the right hand
The beach on the right hand side of point Peron has plenty squid. On the side of the rocks. Dont even have to cast. Walk up and down the edge jigging the jig and you'll be on, I guarantee it.

Ha we bagged out in an hour
Ha we bagged out in an hour and a half mate they were there on every drift def spending a little more on jigs is the key i reckon cause a mate had a cheapy and struggled! This was all out on the boat though not from sure.

just because its more expensive sure as hell dont make
it work better
the only jigs my family uses are the jarvis walker ones and we bag out very often and its not often we have trouble getting a few squid
look for weed banks in the 2-7 metres, i find that pink jigs are the best for me
i sumtimes get good squid around the east side of garden island but dont really go there much as i have much closer spots which are better
i have more luck squidding on say a friday or thursday is ussauly much more productive (same for fish) becasue theres been alot less people during the week than say a sunday when there many boaters

the jarvis walker ones are ok if there the only jigs being used one bored. the expensive ones will kick arse tho. if u use a yo zuri or yamashita next to ur family of jarvis walker jig you can show off and show that u squid better:P.

egi reports
Plenty of squid action of late, from the East side of Garden Island ie at the NE tip section to the jetty. Mangles Bay has been hit and miss but reliable and so has Parmelia bank in the deep section ie 4-5m.
Better quality squid jigs do catch more squid when compared but the cheapies work still. Just when the going gets tuff the better quality ones swim and entice the bite.
