Stainless Steel Bench
Submitted by Seaquest on Wed, 2012-08-22 19:38
Looking to buy a stainless bench for cleaning fish. Don't know if I should just get a sheet and make a timber base or just buy a commercial kitchen bench. Any info would be great.

Salvage yards mate
Not sure if you got any down there, but you can find some gems in salvage yards. Or check gumtree.

Hard decision, those plastic-topped trestle tables from bunnings are much nicer on the knife and fold up when not in use ;)

For my 4ft Blow Mold
For my 4ft Blow Mold table(filleting table) i cut up a couple of my old PVC rod holders to about 30cm each and slipped them on onto each leg to raise the height up a bit. Works good on hard surfaces.
Or alternativley when i was on a beach i dug a hole for me to stand in so the table was the right height hahahaha :D

I picked up a 1800x700
I picked up a 1800x700 granite bench top that had a tiny chip in it for $100 of gumtree and put some legs on it, works sweet. Just an option other than stainless?

Look out for home renovations
Maybe put the word out amongst friends in Perth for a stainless steel kitchen sink from home renovations. I did this a while back, took a couple of weeks with a few leads and then a ripper showed up on the verge just down the street from me. Just got to build a frame for it when I get back to Perth. It has a sink in the middle which I will make a cover for, but there is nearly a meter of stainless either side of the sink. Something like that should be big enough for the fish you guys catch:D

Seaquest, try Ross Auctions
They have catering equip sqales frequently. Picked mine up around Christmas for $280 (2m long x 600mm deep) and 900 high so it doesnt do your back in.

Bayswater
My mate got one at a closing down sale. It had a stainless top and frame with a fridge built in. They are comercial style benches , fridges , and other items.
Not sure what the place is called but it is at , 5 Christian Ct Bayswater. This is at the end of Raymond st .
