Sorry havnt posted on here for a couple of years ... The boat was a 15ft fully enclosed half cabin nautiglass. And was a thieves dream I guess as I bought it off a friend a couple of years ago and we were in the process of trying to register the trailer the boat ect. Didnt even have a number on the hull. Im kinda expecting I will never see it again. Its sad but that someone can just pinch something that other people have worked hard to buy.
The person I bought it from has the pics as he took them in to the cops, I am trying to get them emailed so I can post them but will take a couple of days. Was light blue and white. Hmm yes the back yard was so enclosed locked back gate ect. However without the owner of the house (who is a friend of whom I bought boat from I have only met them once) being intervied who knows how it disapeared really. It was a sitting target now thnking about it. However coming from a small country town I had never thought of it being stolen so hadnt insured it or even secured it. You live and learn I guess. Was a huge let odwn for my kids but they been waiting and waiting for me to get it all licensed and home to use.. Have many other reports of boats stolen this year been on fishwrecked
yes kinda annoying it is. i will post a pic or 2 when I get them in but i reakon it will be repainted by now and a different motor ect. probably over east as well. thanks but.....
I dont know if you have one, but everyone should do thmselves a favour and go buy a $50 Tralier lock. This will deter 95% of the theives from taking boats. I see boats parked in drive ways all the time with no tralier lock...personally i think their nuts. Big or small boat, I'd have one on 100% of the time.
Sorry to hear about your boat mate, bloody theives are getting bad these days.
If the boat is accessable (ie out in the open) I would go for a wheel lock/clamp as well as the trailer lock.
If you are using a trailer lock make sure you fold the chains back and secure them through the middle of the locking bar on the lock when you put it on as I have heard of some of these people just using the chains to tow them away.
