Hey Guys
This boat was stolen from Hillarys Marina on Sunday. It was on the water not on a trailer when it was taken. If anyone sees it or knows anything about it please let us know.

Devastating...
This is the second (nice) boat in recent times that has been stolen. As a boat owner who loves fishing and what the boat provides it must be gutting. Maybe Matt you can do a quick search on this site to locate the other forum member, give him a p.m. and find out what he did to get his pride & joy back. I know he was in high praise of the Police's efforts. Good luck - it can't be easy to hide a beast like that.

Pretty distinctive looking
Pretty distinctive looking boat so hopefully somebody recognises it and you can get the f'kers
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

was it in a pen?
They must have been well organized to take it and have a large trailer ready and waiting?
I know theres a property in gingin that needs a good Fire.

How long was boat in pen
What time was the boat put in the pen on sunday and what time was it discovered gone on monday, if I've got it right that that is the time frame that you are talking about that leaves very little time for getting a suitable size trailer for such a big boat.Just a suggestion have you been around to the trailer hire places in Perth to check if they hired out a 6 wheel trailer last weekend,it vertuialy leaves only sunday afternoon to get a trailer to fit the boat if the boat was only there for 1 day.
To me it looks like an oppertunity type of stealing not a planned job due to shortage of time.
Might be an idea to contact all the security companies opperating in the area and ask if any of their employies saw anything especialy the ones that do industrial areas. How much fuel was in the boat perhaps it went by sea not land. Have you put notices up at all the local shopping centres and pubs and offered a bit of folding stuff for reliable info that results in getting the boat back.
I guess you have done all of the above just trying to help sorry if i've gone overboard, but stealing bastards give me the business if you know what i mean

how deeps the water where those pens are....
could be embarrissing if its been sitting on the bottom the whole time .... a case of quickly put the boat in and move it to the pen forgetting the to put the bungs in... i know it sounds absolutely obsurd and its a one in a billion but ive heard of stranger things happening

Was talking to a bloke
Was talking to a bloke yesterday about boat security / theft etc and I mentioned this rig - he reckons it's been recovered ?
(I described it to him & he reckons he saw it on the water in Mindarie last week)
Could well have been another boat, but there can't be too many around fitting the description with that flip-flop / chameleon paint
Is it true ? - any updates ?
What was it powered by ?

WAPOL
Got a fax from water police couple of days back, they think it has been spotted in Gero and asked if we can keep an eye out for it.
