Whitehills beach

Mrs gates had been nagging me to take the dogs down to the beach for a run so I took an hour off yesterday from building the new boat shed's roof trusses and headed down. Also took the new Nikon D5100 for a play....here's a couple of pics.
Still getting the hang of the camera and enjoying trying new things.

We have the same camera and it's working really well.

nice pics - but be sure to
nice pics - but be sure to keep a good eye on your dogs - have heard of a few poisonings down that way from 1080 fox baits - make sure they don't stray into the dunes

Was good
down there saturday. I camped overnight was very peaceful. Magic weather the whole weekend.
About 5-7 km's down the beach narrows right in made for some interesting driving.
Caught 5 Tailor and one keeper skippy, always worth flicking a line out.
Good Pic's

Whitehills
I don't fish down there as often as I should...I only live 5 mins drive away so there's no excuses, really.
As Wes said, we usually do ok with tailor in the afternoon/evening and a few herring and skippy in the mornings.
Heading south seems to be the place, but there's a small reef opposite Sarich's beach house and that usually produces.
Thanks for the info about the 1080...our dogs are so interested in chasing the ball, they don't usually wander off.
There's something very therapeutic about standing on the beach in the late afternoon wetting a line and watching the sun go down...even if the fish aren't biting.
