by the looks of that bridge, its a good spot. with your rig setup there, eliminate the big swivel imo. what lb line are you running?

Leemo, its not a Bridge, but
Leemo, its not a Bridge, but a jetty.
I've got the swivel which is actually small- i find it actually helps a bit with casting and the swimming of the lure. The pink braid is 8lb (3.6kg) and the yellow line is about 3kg.

I gotta agree with the viking
I gotta agree with the viking here, it throws off the swim of the lure, especially if its a light lure. Swivel will also throw off accurate casts, again, especially if its uber light tackle.

Yes it works
And I dont think Leemo and HS is trying to be critical, just helpful.
I am more than happy to receive as much advise as anyone can throw at me, and more than happy to offer as much as I know.
I started fishing aged 4. Got into it as a fisherman at about 6. That is when you go fishing because you want to, not dragged there and a rod sort of stuck in your hand. We had a holiday spot and us kids would have fished for almost all the time, getting fish that from memory was huge, but was probably pretty decent Ocean Mullet. I recall some of these childhood memories crystal clear.
So I have progressed from double granny knots to almost being able to tie a Bimini in pitch black. Leant so much and still learning, which is one of the things about fishing that makes it so fantastic. You can never know enough.
So after 40odd years off fishing fanaticism I dont know jack about some things, and lots about others, and I would also agree with the boys above. Ditch the swivel (I use heaps in other applications) and tie the main line directly to the leader. Use the best and easiest knot back to back. I used the blood knot for years, but changed to the Uni. Both are very simple and can be used to join the swivel/hooks etc. To then ditch the swivel, just tie back to back, mine now being a back to back uni. Apart from serious applications like fly fishing, gamefishing, Gts and competitions it will do for 90% off your needs. There is better knots for sure, but KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle have stood the test off time.
This does allow the lure more natural action, and the swivel is less likely to spook a fish. I found this out almost by mistake. When I got into fly fishing you dont use any swivels. Its all knots. I noticed especially with flatties that I was getting heaps on the flats. I could have left it at that, but for a little fun added a lure instead of a fly to the end of the fly line setup and blow me away, heaps of flatties. So I leant it wasnt the fly vs lure, it actually was the swivel.
What came next was I tried this on the spin gear, and the rest is history. You will get more fish without the swivel.
I also used brown line especially in dark water, and have always stuck with it in fresh water, thinking that it looks the same as the water. Again fly fishing changed my view, and I now firmly believe the only colour for most fishing situation leaders is clear. There also is no comparing fluoro to plain mono, apart from the price. I stick with Fluoro leaders for almost all fishing situations, and catch rates go up.
I now almost only use swivels for 2 reason. If fishing Mono main line and there is a twisting possibility, ie a odd bait which causes a twist, a swivel protects the line, because mono and twist dont mix. I hardly ever worry about twist with braid so I dont use it even with something like a twisty lure.
I am lazy and I also like being in the water rather than sitting tying a knot etc. So for my bottom bounching rigs I use snap swivels purely to make changing rigs easier. We take about 5 rods each out when we go on the boat, and only the bottom bouncers and the trolling setups have any swivels, purely to speed changing rigs. If I wasnt as lazy I would probably ditch swivels altogether and just have a good main to leader knot for most applications. There is some lures that certainly "swim" better with a swivel somewhere in line. I dont like them close to the lure, others do. With Mackies up here in Karratha I use the swivel closer to the lure, because they go nuts sometime and think the swivel is a fish and will then be able to bite through your mainline.
Some people on here hate snap swivels and I think they are a big weakness in your link to the fish, so if I was real keen on winning a fishing comp, or had the patience to tie new rigs rather than a quick snap change, I would never use them.
Sounded almost like a lesson but just trying to help. Its what you do at 3 in the morning when your back is stuffed from to much fishing and you cant sleep!!!!
Hope this help, and watch out, the flatties will go nuts.

I know that Leemo and the others are only trying to help
Thanks Strike Zone :)
Thanks for your advice. Ill hit the water tonight after school and try your method.
I find that if i use a clip for quick exchange of lures, the lure does 360's and bounces on the surface. I use the swivel because it makes it a little heavier, and i find that with this particular lure, it enhances its action. Also i don't trust myself with tying mono to braid uni knots.
Will see if i have brown or darker line, but my pink braid seems to be the go!
Flurocarbon leaders? What are they, I've heard of them on fishing shows but never come in contact with them
Thanks again

Flourocarbon leaders is just a special type of Mono
It has almost the same light reflective properties as water, and thus is almost (so they claim) invisible to fish.
Back to back Uni is easy as pie. Just do 4 wraps/turns in the Mono/fluoro side, and double the wraps at least on the braid (I do 10). Otherwise learn the other knots. A Bimini looks hard but isnt once you get the hang off it, and with a Bimini in the braid there is endless options like Albright, catspaws, GT etc to connect very securely and smartly (goes through your guides sweet). But for flaties a double uni with 10 turns in the braid will see you through. Just slober on it to pull it up tight and you have a very strong knot, more than youll need.
A Geoff Wilson Knot book is a good investment and then practice.

Thanks for the reply
I've been doing the uni knot correctly then, I just don't trust it
A bimni is difficult for me, but i've never practised.
May invest in a knot book.
And yes i've been slobbering on it so that it doesn't cut on itself :)

Good knot books arent all
Good knot books arent all that cheap. I bought a few aaaages ago, but I learnt knots that I use all the time from people and from Pamflets from fisheries, tide guides etc. The commonly used knots you wont have to buy a big book for, they're everywhere. Even on the packet of braids etc etc
I've got a pretty thick knot book here and I've read the whole thing and I have not used anything in there that I didnt already know or learnt elsewhere.
Best way, just ask fellow fishos to give you a run down on a few knots. If you ever see my blue hilux covered in stickers around, just give me a hoy and I'll be happy to show ya.

Hey, you'd go too if you
Hey, you'd go too if you could, I still have a crack up at the end of the road trip that day when the lot of us brought down a tackle store with us, my god, the looks we were getting were priceless!
Well, I do ok, had plenty of good days and lots of bad ones, but lately havent been fishing much. Work =(. Alot of my first catches of species have been from there. It's just easy for me to get there and home and its local. I even have 2 rocks that I only stand on or I wont fish there if it's taken lol. I have put in alot of hours at that joint though.
