What a F&*ken Joke!
From reading about the going ons of these scumbags over the last year or so I always have to check the trailer hitch, safety chain and rollers before retrieving. And leaving my own driveway!

I'm thinking that we should
I'm thinking that we should set up something there and catch these bastards. Either we video them or take them around the corner and sort them out. Taking that pin from the tow bar and the other guy who was mentioned about the trailer boat rollers pins taken has pissed me off a bit as they are low snake belly bastards who need to learn something the hard way.
Cheers

Could have cost someone
Could have cost someone their life. Bloody sad. Wonder if one can ask dpi to install CCTV at ramps.

as bad as this is
does anyone have any idea on the cost of a cctv system good enough to be able to cover the whole carpark AND be good enough to be able to identify a:people and b:car rego numbers then multiply that by however many piublic ramps in the state or even just metro (cos everyone will want it if one gets it), Well I do being in the buisness
and beleive me the govt will not pay for this sort of security it would run into millions for all the ramps to be done even just metro ramps

If you ask me it is
If you ask me it is worthwhile to install CCTV there. I have seen too many reports of vandalism there

Maybe something to put in with the next lot of submissions for the spending of $ from funds for our rbfl. Rec fish west asks for submission every year.

Agree Dirt
When I owned a boat the CBPA membership fee was a small price to pay for the secure parking alone without taking into consideration the rest of the excellent facillities they have.

Small cost
One insurance claim and having to pay the excess off 500 bucks normally and there is you membership. Like you said Markj great facilities, wash down area, bar, cheep ice, bbqs clean toilets and the best thing of all is there is someone there 24/7

Totally agree
their is also storeage for your boat their now if you are a full member (pay extra for storeage but isn't as dear as anywhere else) and have insurance for your boat. I know at the moment their is no waiting for full membership either. June is the start of the new finacial year for CPBA for membership 2014/15.

cctv and security
vandalism theft hooning antisocial behavior all too common in the area. cctv and increased security/ police presence will assist.
Got keen?

Safety Pin
I have always looped a small length of lockwire around the legs of the Safety pin, this ensures that the pin will not work loose when 4WDing inadvertently, and also makes it a little harder for for a thief to pinch my towbar or my propellor (yep, I have a propeller on the back of thute for a bit of fun. Works for me.

Not sure but
you might be able to ask the owners of the blue shed there. As I know they have cctv outside, they may be able to help with footage, how good the footage will be is questionable.

What's the point of filming
What's the point of filming the turds damage your car or whatever, the usual slap on the wrist at best. Get the place fenced off and pay as you go gates. We are getting our factory units fenced off for exactly this. Sick and tired of coming into work on a Monday with damage, theft and breakins all too common. We discussed cctv and it's just not economically viable. At least if you know your car and trailer are behind a locked compound it will give you some piece of mind like the power boat club does.

Yeah, but the fence I'm thinking of is the solid bar type, like they have around the zoo etc.

Even CCTV is useless because
Even CCTV is useless because people need to be identified. Look at all the fuel thiefs that get away with it even when there are clear camera pictures of people doing it. CCTV would only help for insurance claims

you get what you pay for
The problem is people dont want to pay for the quality of cctv needed to identify people, it is out there and we fit it, if people have the money if not they just get a "keep an eye on things" type of quality

Cockburn Sea rescue
Whats the location of Cockburn sea rec ?
And if it is still at gemma rd why ?
I would have thought that it would be better at the boat ramp and if it is man'ed it would be good for Security at the boat ramp and they could put a camera on the building like Two rocks.
Is this not the case ? or too hard basket for council ?

Same happened
To a friend that did an over nighter at Rotto.Trailer was at hillarys he managed to get the boat off the ramp ok but when he moved it forward after washdown the whole lot slammed into the back of his vechicle.. We couldnt figure if they wanted to steal the trailer or reece hitch or just some numb nut prank

Even at the Cockburn Club it
Even at the Cockburn Club it could happen. I was there a few weeks ago at night and there was a couple of blokes fishing off the launching jetty and when I started backing down they took off to climb back over the fence. So even there its still a chance of happening, but less than at the public ramp thats for sure.

Been the victim too bastards
Not the pin but little pricks for "fun" partially cut my Spectra winch rope, and almost fully unscrewed the shackle. Boat fell off the trailer on a busy Rd, almost collecting some cars on Dampier Dr Karratha.
Knwe who the little turds was, but kids so only got a stern talking to by cops and "hopefully" their parents.
Pissed me off for the damage and inconvenience. Could have injured or killed people behind as it was "rush hour" from Dampier to Kcity at the end off a day.
Something will have to be done, because someone will be injured or worst with this stupid acts.
