time for a big change!!!
hi all
i am 23 years old and from a very small island called Jersey which is in the English Channel and it is regarded as the best fishing in the u.k and i have fished these waters all my life but its time for a change and a big one at that !!
i have just had my australian travel visa approved and will be arriving in june for sun, sand, girls, surf, beer and of course alot of land based fishing :) My plan is to travel up through Qld brisbane all the way up to cairns and hopefully darwin NT then if i find work to stay in oz for as long as i can and continue to fish
i have been doing alot of research on the web and found a few locations which i can chuck in a line but can any one plz advise me on were to fish along the east coast and where i will get good results?
what type of fish there would be?
what tactics to use?
hints and tips?
website?
thanks all
p.s i am a welder/fabricator is this still a sought after trade in australia

Dude, come to WA!
Good advice, don't drink Four X, or Fosters. Set yourself up in WA! The mining boom here means welders and fabricators are sort after big time. Alot of the work is up north in WA and as I believe, alot of awesome fishing is too. Plus WA has the hottest girls in Australia, but Darwin does host an aweful lot of carefree, tanned backpackers.

G'day mate
this is a west oz based site...not sure about east coast, however trades seem to be in demand over here metro and up north might be a idea to try and do some homework on prospects employment wise, certificates etc and start your fishing / australian adventure over this side ...june might be a little chilly though
