Toxic Black Bream

Caught these a few weeks back with scott99 down at these ponds where the old power station is. I'm sure some of you would know exactly where these are as we thought we would share this we you guys to see if anyone can have any luck there. One going at 41cm and the other at 44 cm with one putting on a massive ariel display on hook up. We were there trying to crack the 50cm mark it wasnt to be. We still hunting for it!

There was an article in the local paper about how toxic that water is and the shallows/beach area in front of it. They're trying to get it fenced off. Apparently it's pretty high in some nasty chemicals. I read this after I'd fished there but doubt I will go back!

It was shamefull of what was dumped in that whole area, you can research about it online altho information is getting harder to find. (They don't want us to know how bad it was )

I know the site well and have commented before, but it's up to you how long your willing to play in the area.

PCB's don't dissolve, or dissapate very easily. This is just my opinion based on years of working with toxic waste , but i will add a link about the subject so every one can make there own mind up about it.

I'm not saying don't go there, just be aware of what is in the water and soil around the power station .

That's what they were talking

That's what they were talking about in the article, they advised to avoid the whole area in front of it. Don't think any bream is worth that risk!

Rumours are theres a few xxxl bream in there.

Fri, 2012-02-03 18:51

The avitar "Albee mangles" mentioned seeing a monster on the pilons once

If they get caught and eaten, well that would be poetic justice to the culprit right there. So the ones caught i hope are released.
