transducer plate

i have attached photos of my transducer which created rooster tails and from a previous discussion on how to solve this problem i made up the following plate around the transducer as a trial as with my transducer being mounted lower than recomended to ensure i get a clear picture at any speed , the front edge of the transducer is well clear of the rear of the transom and so i cut out a plate of alli which i was able to mount flush to the underside of the hull which allows the water to run over the tranny face and cuts down the amount of water the goes over the top edge and creating the rooster tail

Great idea. I have the same
Great idea. I have the same problem. I get some water getting into the outboard through the air intakes from the rooster tail. Let us know how it goes. Have been thinking of going through hull with the transducer but haven't see anyone thats done it with an ally boat.

Rooster Tail??
What do you mean by a rooster tail?? Water flying up from the tranny into the air near the motor?
I have the same problem with my tranny not reading a t speed. Tried to lower it 1cm and picked up 4 knots but still cant go faster than 16 knots.

water spray
Aaron , yep its the water coming over the front edge of the tranny and sprays up all over the motor , the plate cuts it down , i dont have a problem getting a full picture at speed . my rig is an alli and at speed i loose small section of picture due to water/air bubbles going over the tranny face , so thats why i have dropped the tranny down to keep it under the bubbles
