User profiles

I had a P.M. from Damo6230 kindly inviting me to go breaming in the Blackwood as like me, he is a Busso area resident. Damo mentioned some of the bits in my user profile were familiar being an ex NT resident himself. Out of curiosity i looked at the user profiles of those currently on line and i was a little disapointed to see the majority had no details at all. I understand those of you with extensive contact with the legal system or an unfortunate fascination with goats would be a little reluctant to advertise the fact - but a bit of basic info would be good. Like a lot of users i am familiar with the more prolific and outgoing users such as the Cols, Adam, The Faulkners etc but often wonder about a lot of other less frequent posters. I am not stalking you people but it's nice to know a bit about the posters and a bit of a profile gives an idea.

agree there, only takes a few minutes to type a few things and give some people an idea of what type offishing etc you like, always helps with trying to get deckie spots and invites too i would say

I think it is helpful in making this site achieve one of the things it was created to do - bring people with a love of fishing together.

Profile is an effective tool!

I fully agree Ian and this has been brought up many times and more the better i reckon. Doesnt take much as Matt said (not that hard) . I often go into profiles also especially when they ask questions to often not answer their question ie; "where are the tailor biting".....i dont know if he/she's North? or South?....L/B? or boat base? etc and yes it has many other benefits like mentioned!

Yep! Profiles are great. In fact, a nice addition to this site would be the ability to search the profiles section by location etc. That way I couldpester locals for a fishing buddy now and again.

Does search already cover this?

Cheers, Vince

you can search by location

Wed, 2009-03-18 09:53

just go into Members and click on the location tag and it should come up in alpabetical order.

I use it to PM invites to SW BBQ etc.

(as Ian indicates) I use it regularly and it is a great tool

Great reminder Ian, cheers mate.  Will certainly help you in getting the response you want if you've got it filled in and people know you are genuine.
