Walpole - Nornalup Inlet Mouth Access
Submitted by Ush on Thu, 2016-10-06 16:32
Gday all,
Seeking thoughts or experiences in getting to the mouth at Walpole. In previous years I have taken the tub out to the mouth across the inlet, unfortunately no longer an option. What's are the tracks and beach like east of the mouth? Any experiences or advice? Thanks in advance.

Walpole - Nornalup Inlet Mouth Access
G'day mate.
The track out to Bellanger Beach is accessed from Station Road (just east of Nornalup). The track itself is fine (in 4WD). The beach can be soft as the sand is quite coarse and doesn't pack down. There are also some sloping sections and cutaways. I have a heavy 80 Series Landcruiser - something a with a bit better power-to-weight ratio would be preferable.
Cheers

Yup
As Lango said, through station rd and onto the beach called the 'blue holes' which is good fishing. Just make sure you know what you are doing with your 4by, she gets soft, slopey and surgey with water levels. Seen and heard of many come un stuck, but if you go, be prepared for bogging and drop tyres low to start with.
