Watch out for roos and goats

For those about to travel north to Carnarvon or further north keep an eye out for roos and goats as well as the usual sheep and cattle.
With recent rain south of town the grass has started growing alongside the road and this is attracting big numbers in to feed.

Had to drive down to Gero last Friday morning and back on Saturday arvo, saw at least 50 roos , 2 big brown bulls, maybe a hundred sheep and what felt like a thousand goats, all between Wooramel and to about 20km south of town

This is one of the reasons why I run nearly 40000 lumen of light on the truck. Only do that north run 3 times a year but yeah they can be thick at night up that way

Thanks carnarvonite. Did the run south last week and it was pretty good. Heading back north with boat in tow for the Exxie comps in a couple of weeks. Will keep an eye out.

We  used to run the roadhouse up there for a while, a few years back. That section of road from the the roadhouse up was some of the craziest road ive ever driven with wildlife..

Stay safe you mob :)

Heads Up

Cheers for the heads up mate.

A good cyclone rain leaving water away from the road edges and putting grass in the paddocks will thin out the wildlife a lot. I hope that happens before the end of March when i'm driving up there.

Got done at Chrissie time heading south, road train went past the other way and roo came through just after it, scared the bejezus out of me.  Couple grands damage to the ute but didn't damage the paint thankfully so the dent can stay there a while.
