Water depth charts

Hey fellas
Been having a look around for water depth charts for Perth beaches, the charts I'm looking for are water depth from shore to about 100 meters out, mainly freo and coogee areas, wondering if anyone knows where I would be able to find this information. ( if I had a boat ild just float over the area to get the depth but I'm landbase only) Any ideas would be appreciated, cheers Rick

With the exception of the shipping channels I would say that the water would not be over 6- 10 metres deep a hundred metres offshore.

I would have thought the depth would change too often in that close to make charts worth while. Dont know about freo or coogee but it certainly would around any surf beaches.

best and most accurate way, like you said would be too hope on a boat or kayak and sound around for the depths. But as a second option if a sounder isn't available i would take vines advice and head to the marine saftey place in fremantle. Have you tried just looking at satellite images? i know it doesnt give you a depth but can show you the drop offs and holes etc.. that close to shore?

Get down the beach in the morning with the sun behind you wearing polaroid sunglasses and you will be able to see where any holes / gutters etc are by the change in colour. Take a note of where the best looking spots are so you can find them later when the sun is against you off the water.
