the way we surf fishing in north Jeddah

this topic is espicially for cuthbad

ok

this is the way we surf fishing here in Jeddah "copy the links to see the pictures" :

1-

2- we put any object to prevent loosing the line .

3-

4- some times the amatures get like this injury

now this is how we prepare the bait :

1-

2-

3- fresh tuna emmm :D

4- we us big needle to insert the metal fishing line.

5-

6-

7-

8-

9- we place the first hook here

10-

11-

this is the final shape for the first hook

12- the second hook is placed here

13- the final shape for the second hook

16-

17- this is how it looks " final shape "

18- now the last preparation step... we tie the line like this

now, this is how we deliver the bait, " we do this because our sea is full of coral reefs " so we can't use the rods from the beach":

2-

3-

4-

5-

6- in this shape " if the winds is going west " do like this :

7- in this shape " if the winds going east " do like this :

8- in this shape " if the winds is going inside toward the sea " do like this:

9- use the bbq sticks around the bait to aviod loosing it:

10- the final shape:

this is one fish I cought it with this method :

cheers man, I think someone else posted some of the same pics like a year ago, was this a friend of yours? cant remember his name.

Personally, my opinion is that the size and type of fish you are targetting should be released if fishing for sport. But if your fishing purely to catch a feed then no worries :-)

That's an amazing process for landbased fishing on handlines. Must take a while to prepare.

Pretty informative, I spotted it awhile ago on the net and thought about doing it. To stop the esky floating off in the distance you have it attached to another rod like a kite rod. Hopefully it doesnt break off winding it in.
