Wedge report

I haven’t been on here much lately due to uni and footy but now with a little more time on my hands I’ve been trying to pack as much into the weekends before preseason starts in a few weeks. this weekend I went up to Wedge island to christen my new car, I took the boat at the chance of going for a fish and Saturday proved to be the day, still a little sloppy but my girl friend and I were happy fishing around the island, we landed heaps of herring, pike, snapper, tailor including a huge greenback dropped at the boat that would have gone 70+. The car handed the sand well and didn’t hint at getting bogged, it was my first time up there and won’t be my last, here’s a few pics not many fishing but it was more of an exploring trip,

Nice work mate we were there

Nice work mate

we were there tuesday to thursday and the winds were blown way to hard to even beach fish! although it made a fair swell so we hit the local break and it was good!

we tried to fish the channel but landed 1 whiting and nearly drowned! ahaha. there were so many waves in the middle of it. also saw a stingray crusie past. and by the local break there were 2 cobbler over 70cm and about 20salmon going airborne, but we left the rods in the shack...

nice report

I can add to your report i was up there fri nite sat morn and LB fished south of south rocks but it was pretty weedy and you can see alot of weed in your photos and not much action where i was.  Just a word of caution that  the beach there probably isnt the best place to put your tent as it is used as a drag strip by idiots, trust me i had my tent ranover there once and i was lucky i wasnt in it.  it is much safer in the dunes
