welder required

I have a pin prick hole in the fuel tank of my norton dominator that needs welding can any 1 out there recomend some 1 to do it, every welder i spoken to says its to risky. The problem is i cant get a new tank or even a reproduction as it is a 53 year old bike

If its empty, clean and ventilated there's no risk, depending on hole location heat could be a risk.

 You need to get it degassed before welding Peter. There are a couple of company's that do this , http://www.integratedfuel.com.au/contact/

 I have TIG welded bike tanks. Not a drama.

use to repair fuel tanks all the time

 Just purge with c02 or another inert gas for a while .use to just hookem up to the car exhaust for 10 min then weld away dodgy I know but never had one blow up even with fuel still in them

 Clean right get a good tig welder iam in bunbury bit far but ther will be blokes up there if no luck pm me can sort it out ok
