What happened to Joondalup Fishing & Camping Store?
I just drove past on my way to the post office and all the signs have been taken down, the doors were all closed and blinds drawn.
Last week when I went in the tills werent working but they were still trading, and Tony was busy loading a truck with camping gear from the mezanine level which seemed a little strange at the time but nothing was said. They didnt mention they were closing or moving locations, so if they have moved, there is no forwarding address on the door and if they have closed it looks like it was pretty sudden.
Hopefully not another victim of the large chain stores.
Anyone know if they have opened up elsewhere?
That was my local I've been visiting for near on 15 years, so now I feel a bit lost.
Cheers

maybe paul g might shed some light, i know he normally speaks to toni a bit, i know he hasnt been doing well, but it would have still been a bit of a shock to have just closed up so quick

Rebadging?
Hopefully its a temporary rebadging thing, but you would expect to see a sign up on the door to say what is going on.
It looks like every sticker on the windows have been removed as well as the big metal signs on the walls?

The current owner is moving
The current owner is moving on at the end of October, so all stock is being cleared out. The good news is there will still be a fishing shop there after.

That is sad, I stop in every
That is sad, I stop in every now and again to pick up bits and pieces, but he didn't say anything at all. I wish him all the best with the move.

We have absolutely nothing
We have absolutely nothing for decent gear down here in Busso any more since Rusty shut down. The Rangers store is not even worth the drive and the camping store in town tries hard, but doesn't quite measure up, so it's a trip to Bunbury (even here they're getting harder for a decent store) or the city now, or on eBay if your lucky.

Geographe Camping & Outdoors
Sorry to but in but I tend to disagree there Dale.. Geo Camping have done some great deals for me eg Penn 950ss reel and rod $ 165, the other place you mentioned(Rusty's) was around $70 more and it was only the reel. Bought a heap of camping gear there and he did better than ol Bung hole could do.... I prefer to support local buisnesses as much as possible...........

Yeah Geographe is the only
Yeah Geographe is the only one I look at now for bits and pieces needed in a hurry, but if your looking for specifics it gets a bit tough. When I was looking for a 10kg rod recently they couldn't even come close to having something I would be interested in, let alone having something that I would purchase for all round stuff if I was looking for that. I do like my tackle stores to be a bit hard core. For camping gear it's pretty good though, I'll agree with you on that.
Cheers

G'day Shorty, yeah he used
G'day Shorty, yeah he used to be down there but moved into a bigger store in Kent St when Target moved into their new premises. Quite a few different things led to Rusty closing down. Ray has sold out the barber shop to some lady barber and she sold it to some queer bloke, I'm too scared to go there now so go to the barbers across the road in the arcade. Ray's enjoying retirement now, he lives around the corner from me in Country Road.

Is he going to be selling
Is he going to be selling off the camping gear, or just trying to get credit back from suppliers?
