Is this a normal catch in Perth Waters??? (the top one)
I have been fishing here for about 20 years and never caught one of these. Caught just out off south Beach.

interesting?
caught a few in cervantes phil. Seems like the story of this season though with so many different species coming down from northern waters. I spotted some golden trevally off the new coogee development while diving months ago.

arrow head squid are a southern speices that i think live in deeper waters. its strange that you got one. how shallow was it? the last one i have heard about in perth is goodz got one in deep water while jigging. apparently they dont taste the same as calamari but still alright to eat. its also weird that you only got one they normaly school up in pretty big numbers.
whats gonna be caught next in perth coral trout???

its amazing how different
different fish/squid/crustaceans look when they are dead and alive though!! the top one looks like it has been in the esky on ice and the other pic looks straight out of the water and bigger which can change the colouration again!!

That's a loligo and I think you're right - they're usually found in the tropics.
