White Hills/Preston beach report

Got down early in the arvo to claim a likely looking spot before the crowds arrived.

Setup camp got rigged up and kicked back for awhile and knocked back a few beers.

Conditions were very pleasant, light seabreeze and no swell.

Went for a quick dip and relaxed a bit more and enjoyed the sunshine

Started burlying up and was looking a catching a few hezzas for bait. While standing a the waters edge I noticed some half descent size whiting feed in water between the reef and shoreline.

So I change tactics and sighted cast at them for a couple of hours and landed a few for bait and a few larger ones for a feed. (largest went about 34 cm) Me young fella got a descent hezza for the table aswell.

Kept on fishing for herring and watched another day finish with the sun setting.

Can't beat it an ice cold  beer, fishing and family. Gotta love this life and our country.

Fished on till early morning only one tailor about 37 cm. One run but no hookup.

Beach is easy to drive on no weed at all and the water is crystal clear.

Not to worry me son and I always a night down at the beach.

Till next time good luck Fisho's and Fishet's.

P.S. The rangers are targeting people camping and driving in the dunes, have started to block off more access points into the dunes. (Preston beach end)

If you go down please keep out of the dunes, the rangers are getting very strict on offenders.

That was a nice change for a fishing report. Happy to see some whiting on the table, just shows that you need a flexible approach to make the trip. Loved the Alvey hanging off a rod in one of the last pics. Agree with the thought of it is a great life at present. Thanks.

Might be just what I  do. White Hills turnoff only a couple off Ks up the road from Parkridge (Bouvard).

Have been there in the last 2 weeks and also caught a nice feed of Yellow fin whiting. Nothing else to brag about.
