WTB, old school glass buoys in netting
Submitted by scano on Tue, 2020-04-21 22:07
Hi all,
starting to getting into and appreciate some of the old school fishing methodology, and starting to have a good appreciation for how much things were ahead of their times back in the day.
looking to source some old school glass floats / buoys (the ones with the netting around them) just to appreciate and respect the way it was done "back in the day"
not looking to shell out sheep stations for them, but let me know if you have something of that nature sitting around and you are willing to part with.
If you got something or that nature taking up space and your want to part with it, please just let me know.
cheers
scano

Those glass floats r pretty
Those glass floats r pretty rare now days average prices round $100 a pop. Head down to the local fishing boat jetties and ask around you never know what is junk to them.

Walk the beaches of the Bering Sea Alaska
They are littered with them dating all the way back to those used on the early 50's by the Japanese and as a bonus you might also find the wood that doesn't burn......mammoth ivory. Your post brought back some great memories, I only kept two of the heavy glass balls but took a heap back to the lodge for other guests to help themselves to
