Not positive but possibly some KG's - 50hz on left and 200hz on right - caught a few good sized KG's as this went through on the sounder but I was catching them on the bottom where I'd expect and the sounding was above them - Possibly catching the Kg's under a school of baitfish.

I would be very surprised if it was KGs you have there on your sounder, they tend to move in small groups and definitely on the bottom ...as to what they might be I have no idea..school of Herring or Mulies ?

I tend to agree they are
I tend to agree they are likely not KG's off the bottom like that but couldn't totally rule it out - pic was taken in SA where we sometimes get them in large to even huge schools and I have seen them schooling well off the bottom at times (they'll only do this when in numbers). Water was pretty cloudy at the time so couldn't see anything looking over the side.
Herring etc possibly but the KG were biting before or as soon as it got to the bottom suggesting the KG were in numbers. If herring were there I'd expect them to beat the KG to the bait at least once or twice.
Have also seen snapper on the surface in 30m near Whyalla (rounding up and hoeing into schools of small blue crabs on the surface) which is not where you'd expect them to be..

Looks like the same picture
Looks like the same picture we were getting last week at five fathom bank in 18m. Was a big school of skippy with a few tasty red snapper in between, all midwater too
