What do you make of this?
Submitted by beau on Sat, 2013-12-28 07:08Hey guys took this sounder shot from our last trip out south of rotto. We were just moving in between spots when I noticed bait flicking on the surface. This is what the sounder was showing under the bait on the surface. Interested to know what you guys make of it? If the bait ball was all the same density I wouldnt think any more of it but its a lot more dense at the bottom of the school, almost as if something was pushing them up from below. Couple other marks underneath aswell. We dropped jigs and tried fast retrieves hoping for a yellowfin bit thinking back we probably should have trolled a couple deep divers out the back aswell. Cheers. beau

Tristen Pike
Submitted by catchalittle on Sun, 2013-11-17 22:03My young bloke Tristen caught this snook in about 5 metres of water while we were over at Rotto certaily the biggest snook Ive ever seen measured it and went 75 cm quite a feet for him on his 2500 sized reel took a few slices off him to try for some kg's in the same area and kept on catching Dhuies so had to move location not before I marked the spot for later on down the track he was even brave enough to have a quick sorkle with me to see if we could nab a few crays since our pots didnt prouduce today

Mandurah whiting
Submitted by jighead on Sat, 2013-11-16 13:02Nice feed of whiting from this mornings efforts. Been using zman grubs on very light jigheads with a tiny stinger hook trailing near the end of the grubs tail. A constant retrieve is doing the damage and I find a dab of Sfactor scent every now and then helps too. Lots of the hookups are on the stinger. Got a few on the surface lures but the plastics are doing much better.
