G'day fellow fishers,

Myself and a few mates are heading to Exmouth this Thursday for a weeks fishing and are keen to chase a few king prawns. Does anyone know anything about prawn fishing in exmouth? With all the rain in the area lately perhaps it has got them on the run?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

PS- Detailed coords of your best fishing spots will also be useful on this trip!! Haha!!

 Just had Squid and Tailor Thai Green curry caught from Busso jetty by my lad Josh, he's getting good at getting a feed now, he can nail them Tailor now.

when I picked up my new boat it had .2 hours on it now has 3.7 hrs I filled it up when I first picked it up and have now done my first fuel up so for a total of 3.5 hrs I have used 22 litres of fuel in pretty horrible conditions the boat tops out at 53kmh with two blokes a couple of eskys and fishing tackle not sure if that is good or bad still struggling to work out far I have travelled from my gps

Heres our bag for today. Dad and I had a late start to the morning but turned out to be really surprising day. We were out at the west end late in the arvo, getting a couple of nice snapper and then got a spaniard on a double snell with mono leader!!! Chewed through the first hook and second pinged him in the fin, have a look at thte pic. Took a while to get him to the boat and it was my first gaf job, yes!! Came in at 1.3m and about 10.1kg cleaned.

Hi ... I'm thinking about purchasing a 4m Quintrex Hornet dinghy with an Eclipse Hull and 30hp motor.  I expect to mainly use the boat for trolling close to the shore off south west coast of WA.  Any comments regarding your experiences with this type of boat and hull would be welcome.  Thanks :)

I normally don't open cans of old worms once they have been resealed but this is for my reputation.... a 90+cm tailor was landed on the end of the Busso Jetty lastweek. I have confirmed this with several eye witnesses and a fishing buddy who was there. I don't BS when it comes to my fishing.

 I start this by saying I'm a completely new fisherman, I picked up a rod for the first time since I was a kid in Feb of this year, so I've got a lot to learn. 

Learning isn't always easy, there is so much variety in gear, tackle and methods, distilling all this info into something I can put into action and get results in the water with is easier said than done. So this is why when experienced fishos have the goodwill to take the time to give a newbie some advice and help, I'm always grateful.

One such example of this goodwill came my way on Sunday morning, I'd been out on Saturday morning flicking lures for Tailor which resulted in two hookups, followed by two leaps, two head shakes and two lost fish. I was still determined, so out again I went on Sunday at first light.

After a few hours of fruitless fishing along came another fisho, Mark, who flicked his lure not 10m away from me and landed the tailor I'd been trying for all morning. Mark must of seen the diminished hope in my eyes after watching him land that fish right where I'd been trying for hours, so he did something I'm grateful for, he stopped off his own back, and took a few minutes out to share some info from his experience. 

He showed me a couple of his lures, explained why he used them, talked through the tailor habits and the territory he covers to fish them. He also advised me to swap out the trebbel hooks for singles, and then most importantly advised me to keep fishing a bit longer. It was 9:30 and I was about to pack it in, but Mark had just told me he'd caught some of his biggest fish around 10am. So I persisted, 10am rolled around and just as the fishing soothsayer predicted the tailor came past, I hooked up my first, the hook stuck with my new single hook and I landed the fish at 39cm, straight out again and my next fish hits, I get this tailor ashore and it goes 50cm.

So with a little help from a new friend and a bit of luck, I landed my PB tailor just as I was about to give up. So Mark, if you by chance are reading, I owe you a drink - and thanks for the fish.

 There was a skit on sunday night channel 7 about a 'bite club' ( people who have been attacked by sharks). There was a victim from Coral Bay (David Pickering) who says he got bitten by a tiger shark. It wasnt. It was a reef shark only around the 1.5m mark. He told everyone that is was a tiger to sell his story. He then got run outta town when the media showed up. You think we were gonna help them with a dodgy story. Dont bloody think so...

I am one of many members who fishes every weekend but now chooses not to put anymore pics up because, Hey! (Some fuckwit is having a go because my arms are too long in a picture or shit! there's one too many fish in the picture! yet you don't know the whole story!!!!)

It's about time some of you BUCKED your idealogy up! YES! PUT UP! or FUCK OFF!!!

How about if someone posts something you're not sure about, then maybe PM them 1st before rubbishing them, and get the whole story!

Fairly new to the area and was just wondering what the sea defence is like for fishing off? Haven't fished that far down before, was gonna give it a go through the day with the kids. Usually fish Secret Harbour or Madora Bay at dusk/dawn, fancy a change. Any tips for bait and rigs? Only ever use mulies for the tailor and sqiud for the tiny stuff for the kids.

every one is chasing squid and occys these days , seems to me we have a owe lot to the the Italian and Greek immigrant's that came to Australia 40 to 50 years ago and introduced us to those delicacies that would only ever been used for bait not to mention there home made snags and tomato sauce I need some more home made tommy sauce so if there any Italians willing to swap a feed of whiting for tommy sauce out there I am keen I am a ex freo anglo boy from fothergill street and grew up in freo with the Italians my first girl friend was Italian but I was so scared of her dad I couldn't take it further than holding hands with her that was 50 years ago ha ha

hey guys wondering if anybody has been catching much around Hillary's or rottenest lately if so where I am going for a fish tomorrow and could use some advice been out about 20 or 30 times and never really caught much not even undersized dhuies I normally fish In around 20s to 30s with squid and octopus for bait and use soft plastics and jigs any information or advice would be greatly appreciate

blooded the boat for the first time on what is now the second trip out on my new boat got my first ever legal duhie (just) cooked and eaten already first time I have eaten duhie and got to say they are the best fish I have ever ate also got 2 black arse and a nice ocean sweep all in 10meters on 5 fathom bank and a beautiful cod type fish that went 4 kg that was iridescent blue that we released couldn't get a photo of it as the camera battery was flat any one out there that might know what it was???

Just looking for some advice on location for a fish tomorrow on my boat (5.3m ally runabout). I'm still pretty green when it comes to boating on the 'big briney' and not too sure what the best option will be with the predicted weather.

Seabreeze showing around 1m swell with 15-20knt easterly. Was thinking of going down to Cockburn Sound where it wouldn't really matter, but it is a long drive for me (north of Wanneroo) and if it is likely to be okay out of say Ocean Reef then I'd rather do that?

Any thoughts on what it will be like? I assume the swell won't be too much of a problem but just wondering what sort of chop that wind would make for out at 3 mile? Any advice on what I might target (and how ) would also be greatly appreciated.

Went out squidding today from Hillarys and caught a few and noticed when cleaning the boat there was a oil slick on both sides of the water inlet where you place the water muffs, checked the oil level OK I have a 140hp 4 stoke Johnson done 240 hours, anyone have an idea what could be wrong ?

After damaging the hull on my keywest I got a mobile boat repairer to come to my house .
Called him on Wednesday job was done by Friday hull had about a 2 foot long deep gouge on the keel .
What a awsome job he did you couldn't pick it super efficient and only cost $300 bucks to fix

Anyone caught any mulloway there lately?

Taking the mrs out for a squid tomorrow and wondering where anyone would recommend. I live in Bulter and normally head out of Mindarie and Ocean Reef but dont mind travelling a bit further either way. 

 Just got down to Contos, missing the tip off a rod. Does anyone in Margs do tip repairs? Got four rods with me, so ill still be fishin. Don't mind makin the trip if it can be done.

Not sure whom else may have spotted him in there, but you never know ;)
