Steep Point December 2021
Submitted by buddharock on Sun, 2021-11-21 13:08Hi everyone,
Anyone been up to Steep recently? Just wanting to get a gauge on track conditions in and whether many fish have been around. Camping at Blackies for a week, early December and towing a 4.2m tinny in. Hoping to focus a fair bit on boat fishing, ballooning and off the rocks. I've spent hours combing the old threads, any other advice welcome.
Thanks

Help Targeting Dhu's
Submitted by Fisherman2804 on Wed, 2021-11-17 20:26Gday,
Im chasing some advise on trying to target my first legal Dhu. Me and my dad have had the boat out many times throught last season and the season before but caught absolutly nothing. The whole season we got 1 legal pinkie and 3 breaksea. Been launching at freo and fishing as far out as the 60-70 meter mark behind rotto. Not asking for spots as i know they are hard to come by(But if anyone is happy to share i would be more than greatful) just trying to figure out best baits, rigs, what to look for on the sounder ect as we have tried everything we know for 4/5ths of bugger all over the last couple of seasons
Any advice is much appreciated
Cheers

Boat carpet
Submitted by davewillo on Mon, 2021-11-15 11:50Any supplier recommendations for new boat carpet? We have the old stuff to use as a template and want someone to supply and cut and we'll put it in. I've done a search but the results are mostly old.
Cheers

what the hell
Submitted by petermac on Wed, 2021-11-10 15:34apparently if you fill up your dingy tank (today ) , you have to remove it from the dingy if your pushing into your 60s as i am it can be a struggle geting it in and out , what is wrong with just filling it in your dingy , in my opinion no different to filling your car or a big boats fuel tank or are i missing somthing

kingfish at rotto
Submitted by Sea goat on Wed, 2021-11-10 11:02Hey guys.
Am heading over to meet a friend at rotto on friday. given the ban is on, i thought id try trolling for some pelagics, or i have heard there are some bommies out towards west end whcih can sometimes produce kingfish with stick baits etc.
Have never caught a kingfish (except for a 30cm one at the fads... go figure!) so was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? and am i in the right tim of year? and if this area is worth a try? just want to know if its a waste of time or not? Also any suggestions on lures and sizes etc?
Also i noted that on the maps cape vlamingh is a demersal sanctuary, just checking can still fish for other species here?
thanks for any info!
cheers
Goat.

P66 troubles
Submitted by dale 308 on Tue, 2021-11-09 14:09It's taken me some time but I now got a nice clean bottom picture at speed with my p66 but the deeper I get I seem too loose detail ie upto 15m or so great detail see bait and fluffy bits after that I pick up lumps n ledges at speed but won't show life only if I go back over it at a drift speed will it show life. Also 50khz doesn't work at all blank screen and a white line with depth line set on. Hopefully not but thinking I could of damaged the cable moving it around thought I'd ask before I buy a new one

Pelagic Pursuits way of beating Sharks
Submitted by kirky79 on Mon, 2021-11-08 16:42Never posted a link so hopefully this works. Just watched Matty from Pelagic Pursuits method of extracting fish from Sharks. Hope it works but if it doesn’t, search YouTube for Pelagic Pursuit. It’s his latest upload. Might work here too, no fun in it but neither is losing yummy bottom fish to Sharks.

No fish today but a good outcome.
Submitted by Silver Fox on Sun, 2021-11-07 17:39Went for a Fang today chasing some fish. Heaps on the sounder but they weren't up for it. Had a great swim at Prince of Wales Island on the way home. 29 degree water was pretty hard to beat.

UK to Albany
Submitted by paulsmez on Thu, 2021-11-04 15:27Hi all, just checking back in to say hello.
We moved back to the uk 6 years ago after 11 years in Perth.
Had enough of England so we just moved back, this time to Little Grove in Albany. Too hot and not enough fish in Perth!
Already bought a boat (4.5m quinnie) and our shipping container with all my tackle arrives tomorrow so i’ll be good to go soon.
I’ve no ideawhere to start down here but am looking forward to the learning curve. Hopefully i’ll be posting some pics of something other than herring before too long. Any tips gratefully received!
Anyway, it’s f*ing good to be back...☺️

Cooking lesson
Submitted by little johnny on Tue, 2021-11-02 19:441 kilo boiled spuds . 1.5 kg boiled dhue( waste maybe) . 4 tomatoes .half red onion . Thickened cream ( fresh garlic ) in blender with salt and pepper. Pizza perfect cheese on top. I put layer of dhue on bottom of tray . Then 2 layers of spuds ( sliced) then layer of tomatoes sliced . Then tip thickened cream/salt / pepper / red onion over the top . Topped of with pizza perfect cheese . Absolutely unreal . Night before tailor fillets in batter ( white vinegar and flour salt /pepper) vinegar evaporates leaves a crunchy thin batter . ( saves wasting beer). I think it would be perfect shark batter with lemon twist added.

Boat name decals?
Submitted by Quobbarockhopper on Fri, 2021-10-29 12:04hey all
any recommendations for a Perth based company to produce and install boat name decals?
I have the design done, just looking for someone to tweak it and produce/ install on the boat- size of both are about 750 x 2200
I have contacted the site sponsor and they are only doing whole wraps
Someone who is good to deal with would be awesome- the few people Ive been in contact with over emails etc seem very... disinterested
Cheers in advance
