Another storm casualty

Was up at Seabird on the weekend scoping out some fishing spots when we came upon this washed up cray boat. Speaking to a local they were going to bring in an excavator last night to dig a trench and hopefully pull it out on high tide with a tug. Luckily no damage to the prop or rudder. I think the storm surge was so big it just washed over the reef on the right of pics.

Same mob

The same group of owners lost another boat down at Hamelin about 10 years back when it dragged its mooring and got holed from the old jetty piles, was a 65 foot Conquest, ended up taking it away in skip bins after snapping a major tow rope and breaking a divers leg in the salvage attempts.

Pretty sure Bonza sold up in

Mon, 2012-12-03 20:27

Pretty sure Bonza sold up in town. I know most the cray boats were way down on their quota's last year. At least the boat was un damaged Jeff. Will give you an update when I'm up there next.
