BidRivals - anybody used it ??

Just wondering if anybody has used BidRivals ??

If so, what are your thoughts ??

Seems to be quite different to ebay, where you have to purchase blocks of bids for .90cents a block.

Be careful. It sucks you in

Be careful. Its pretty much a gambling website with deals instead of prizes.

It sucks you in because it appears very cheap to buy the item, and it often is, but the trap is that its costiing you to bid. This is where the site makes money.

Atm, there is an iphone for $60 or so. Each bid costs 90c and raises the price by 2c. So at $60, there has been 3000 bids. At 90c/bid thats $2700 cash for the site! The money is coming from punters hoping to win, but end up just paying to get nothing.

The person who gets the item gets it cheap (as their bids on the item are refunded as well) but most people dont win.

So, really, its like the lottery, lots of people playing, most loose money on average, but some people get the jackpot.

You can get some items cheap, but generally only the ones not many people are interested (and hence not many bid on). You can get stuff cheap if you do it right. Cheap means total cost to the site still works out to a bargain. Watch when items end, and pick the ones where people arent bidding ferrociously over them (even if the price is low, it doest mean much if you had to use hundreds of bids to get it).

Yes the mrs has been keeping an eye on it for a while. The only way i can see you winning is by arse..or you get three or four other mates to log in ..all bid on the same item..then the other 3 drop out...and you may win

Just like Matt said, its a gamble!
