Boat Lighting for night fishing

I've just installed my all round white light and want to install a flood/spot pointing forward to see where I'm going, lights in the rocket launcher to see into the water next to the deck and lighting that send out filtered light in the cabin to have a rigging up area etc.

What wattage should I be looking at for my lights pointing out into the water? Is it a case of the stronger the better and should I also look at installing strip lighting under the gunwales?

 I've found the easiest way

I've found the easiest way to navigate at night is without lights (other than the necessary few), your eyes adjust allowing you to see more than you generally would with spotlights.

It's usually not too hard, unless the floats are a dark colour

hey mate, my bar crusher has

hey mate, my bar crusher has got HEAPS of LED lights and there great, cant get enough in my opinion.. Ive got cabin lights, rear coaming lights, two over head work lights etc.

I have also installed a 30" rigid industries led light bar on the roof going forward for when docking, navigating etc.

Must admit though, it is an incredibly power light but at night on the water it doesn't do that much, the light seems to dissipate as it has nothing to reflect off.

Still great addition though as it lets me watch my anchor winch/rope when retrieving at night too!
