Breaking in my new combo
Well Ive just purchased my first demersal jigging combo and decided to head out on saturday to test it out.We were on the water as the sun came up and it felt like minus 2 degrees, with a slight easterly breeze behind us we were siting on a comfy 22-24KN.We were lucky enough to get onto some nice dhuies, not as big as last week but still nice fish.We had to work hard for them because once the wind picked up it got rough as gutz. The combo I decided on was the new catalina 4000 rigged up with daiwa braid and a lemax slim max pe1-3 rod.Absolutly stocked with the new combo, reel is smooth as and the rod feels soft but has plenty off balls if that makes sense.I was on a mission to catch a bigger dhu than dirts horse from last week but wasnt to be.Once the wind picked up we found it impossible to hold bottom for any length of time so after 5 dhuies, and a couple of nannies we headed back in.The trip back in was horrid, straight back into a 15-20KN easterly from 34 Miles out.12Kn all the back in saw us hangin to get off the boat. Here are some pics of the effort. Will try to upload a vid of some of the action soon.

Nice work
Some nice fish there, I'm still in the learning stage of jigging, had a few small Dhuies on saturday, where did you launch from? We left two rocks and returned for 5PM but managed 20KN all the way back from 25km out
What depth were you in for 120gm jigs? The NE wind slowed the drift down a lot didn't you find ?
Lifes a game but fishing is serious !!!

Yeh batty out from
Yeh batty out from dawsville,we were in 46m of water. The wind picked up by about 9.00.We caught all the fish within an hr and a half of getting to the spot but once the wind picked up we were drifting at up to 1.8KN.The seas were at about 2m straight easterly.Real sloppy conditions.Sounds like it was alot nicer up two rocks way.

How did you find the diawa
How did you find the diawa braid to be ? I use it on my saragosa but find it frustrating to work with in the wind. Amazing line though so very thin but with 30lb, cuts through your fingers and whistles in the wind.
