Carnarvon Jetty Fire

Took a drive down the beach to see how much damage this recent fire caused to the jetty. With the river mouth now flowing on the south side one cannot get a close as I would have liked.

Looks like one whole section between piers has been burnt and shouldn't take them too long to repair if they have got the timber close handy other wise it will anyones guess if it has to come from down south.

The area where it happened is about 40-50 metres towards shore from the landing where the last big fire occurred.

Stuck in a couple of shots of whats left of the old whaling / prawning station jetty. Now that they've removed the shore section prohibiting access, it's deteriorating rapidly and after a few good blows may be gone altogether.

Sad to see such an icon destroyed by idiots. I remember hearing when the original fire too off the end. The best fishing bit too.
Shame to see the prawning jetty go too. Caught plenty of fish off there as a young bloke.

Water

Don't you love the colour of the water, it clears up for a day or two then the slightest bit of ground swell turns it back to flood brown again.
