Cockburn sound crabs
Submitted by lawndered on Tue, 2012-11-20 19:45
Sorry People. I usually can find out most info, but this time I am a little confused. I know last year there was an open and closed season for crabs in the sound, i something about the season being extended.
Does anyone know when the season begins or ends and all that.
Thanks

How long do you usually leave a net down for. I tried a little last year and ended up with a cleaned out net??

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Hopefully the Fisheries boys
Hopefully the Fisheries boys will make a visit to Palm Beach Jetty soon,as the amount of ignorant people crabbing early off the jetty is a joke.
I was wondering why there isn't a sign as you walk onto the Jetty,to explain the closed dates and sizes of the crabs?

Last time I left mine out for about 20 min or less, bait gone, cleaned out.
I had fish frames and some mulies and crap in a frozen wire basket.. not the best bait i suppose

Best bait we have been using
Best bait we have been using down in mandurah is frozen chicken wings. Thread your bait tie through the two wing bones and clip it in and you will never lose it we only use one maybe two wings max per pot. Cheap bait and works a treat.
goodluck
