Coral bay sand spike

Hi all, im off to Coral Bay for xmas and have been reading about a sand spike between Coral Bay and Exmouth.

Can anyone let me know its location, how far it is, land marks etc....Also any other good Land based locations would be fantastic... I do have a small 10 foot tinny that I am taking as well.

thanks in advance

I haven't been there in over 10 years, but from memory I think it is here:

It was shallow on the south side and there was a deep drop off to the north of the bar where the tailor and queenies hang out.

Yep Dtrain is on the money...I've fished it and caught plenty of queenies on Halcon twistys. Had to wade out a fair way to be able to work along the drop offs. Great fun though. Few little reefies hanging around made the walk out and in more interesting as well.

The sand bar. Prob the best

 The sand bar.

Prob the best land based spot around Coral Bay.

As you can from the map head north from coral bay along the coastal access track. about 8 km down the track you will come to a big open valley and you will find the two tracks the meet up at the gate heading towards the sandbar. STOP there...... Let your tyres down to at least 18psi to go over the hill to the beach. The track to the beach has copped a hammering over the last few weeks. Lots of queenies and trevs for fun. and plenty of big sharks swimmimg past.
