FCV 1100 HELP

Went out in a mates boat the other day and it has a FCV1100 furuno sounder with a 1KW tranducer fitted and we went out looking in the deep and the sounder would not read the bottom in anything over 250 mts. Can anyone please tell me if this is about the depth you would expect from the above combo of sounder and transducer ? Any info would be appreciated

Sounder help!
A FCV1100 1kw 200khz setting at over 250 would have a big signal drop but if its on the 50khz then that should hold. If it doesnt then the transducer could be faulty!

Thanks for the help Ryan we tried it on all of the settings and we couldnt get it to read we may have to get the transducer checked thanks again
