Steroidal Garfish? Toothless Longtom? Anemic Marlin? Short-billed Spearfish?
Its just amazing what you can pickup in 40m off Rotto these days with a good skipper ;)

Jag it?
Jag it? *BURN*
I'd like to point out that it is clearly hooked in the mouth. That's a Gamakatsu SL12 in the top jaw.
It took a Richter Lures Soft Grassy in Pink/Pink.

Jamie
Just as an after thought. Those arent waders you are wearing are they? I cant see the bottom but they would worry the hell out off me if they were on my boat and you went MOB.
I even get scared with waders wafting the wand in mandurah walking out and wondering where the drop off is.
Obviously just checking because I would hate them if I fell over the side.

so Till, do you just use them on your boat, or are you working on a commercial boat? Great gear, but I never thought about wearing mine as a rec fisher - good idea in winter though

Tony's boat is pretty dry, some aren't! In any case they keep you warm will the sun is up, or when the breeze is a cold one.

Looks like a "short billed Black marlin"!!!!
Well thats what I would claim If I captured it with a dumb crew onboard.
Nice fish and capture. Id even say that was jagged - ie a flucky capture. Dont you just love text interpretation??

Never seen one before, but awesome capture. Is that 3 bill species this year?
Nice
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Great Jamie
Jamie that is one spectacular capture. The photo is pretty good and the capture/release makes it in my opinion a photo of the month contender.
Its bloody rare to get one of those in perth waters.
Well done to you and Tony

POTM votes needed =)
Ahh not really sure my little metro oddity is going to stack up against brucesta's big boy in September's POTM.
Anyone can throw the skipper Tony a bone here though. Southcity104 needs just a few more votes to win POTM for his great metro Hapuka. Please just click here to go to the voting page!

Come up here to Kcity mate.
If you wear that hot shot, you will swell up and end as berley. no pirate favours up here. But he goes beyond the call to help. i know and have seen massive triple tail under the cyclone moorings. Perhaps the stella 8 SW with locked drag leader 20 lb, might need 40 or 60 from what i have seen.

Definately unexpected!
But totally thrilled!! We did stick to the plan though, trolling skirts on the tide lines.
Those tunas are still elusive atm. I heard rumours of some hillaries captures??
