Furuno 585

Hi guys I now have a 585 with a 1kw tm260 tranny I took it out for first time on the weekend and was really happy with how it performed picking up bottom at speed on the way out and showing fish in 200-300m however once I got passed 350 it was gettin scratchy and at 400 it stopped reading, any ideas on a slight adjustment to the tranny?? Or is that goin to be the limit? Any help much appreciated

I must admit I haven't seen the TM260 working well beyond 350m, but it was fine at there, similarly it tapped out @ 400m...

glad the sounder worked for you bro,

basically to sound out in those depths 5-8kn max doesnt matter what sounder, if you want more from your 585 mate you can add the splitter (MB1100)

foruno actually recomend it now, here is a shot from a few weeks back, greybands and bass were landed, the gain here was from memory around 2-2.5,

normally we dont use bottom lock out in those depths but as a test it worked great,

glad you did well on ur trip south mate

Cheers harro, I sent you a pm asking about the mb 1100, has any one got one of these added in and what better performance will it give? I'm wondering if I need to adjust the taper of transducer will this help in the deeper water?

the MB1100 is a splitter box, runs 2 seperate trannies , a mate has a 1kw on one and a 2kw on the other, basically gives you more power to each tranny, tony has one setup (southcity) send him a pm, i,m sure he can help you  when he is available, i know the unit only has 1kw output but it does make a big deiiference out in those depths, my above pic was on a mates boat with a splitter ,

good luck mate
