Half size 44 gallon drum (ie 22 gallon?)

Festive greetings FW'ers

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a half height 44 gallon drum? I dont want to cut one in half because it needs to have a lid. It also needs to be the same circumference.

It doesnt need to be exactly half height, just not full height.

Cheers

Brad

Try a stock feed seller. Also try a salvage yard.

Wight and Emmett in Bunbury had some about that size b4 Xmas for $30 made of plastic but shaped like a wine barrel.

I was thinking of getting one to start another worm farm by putting a tap at the bottom

Thanks Mike

They need to be steel. For my purposes the plastic may be a little succeptible to fire.

only seen 22gallon ( aprox 100lt ) in plastic .

You can get steel drums in 60lt . Usually i have a few ( thinners drum ) but gave them all away sorry.

The weigh station along the train line in midland sells assorted drums but would call first to make sure .

Yep. Already contacted him. No luck.

What I am trying to do is make a fire drum with a barrel. There is a kit you can buy with a door, flu and stand to convert a 44 into a pretty cool fire pit. Only problem is that a 44 is too long for where I want to put it.

I use old gas bottles to make my fire places. They have to be ventet before i can cut them, and i also get them sandblasted to remove the Galv coating.

Here is a couple i made for family members last winter.

Another option is an old gas bottle .... gotta be carefull cutting them for obvious reasons but have a good solid wall. Use them back in RSA for BBQ's.
