Welcome Wal
Hi wal , there was a thread about this earlier this week with a bit of info regarding rules etc. ( have a look at it )
I use garden worms in harvey dam but lures and soft plastics work just as good .
Cheers Grant.

I'm pretty sure
that since Harvey Dam is a water corporation run facility, it is lure only and no bait.

Only
Only Waroona and Logue Brook dams are lure only. These are the two dams you cant fish for any species during the closed season as well.
Not having a dig at you HuggyB, but its all there on the link you provided in the last thead about this subject.
One thing you do have to be careful about is taking live baits that are deemed a pest ( ie , yabbies, goldfish, aquarium fish ) It's against the law to introduce any of these into our water ways.
If i use bait at Harvey, i usualy dig the worms from the same area that i fish. I only use these during the day when i sit back and rest inbetween peak fishing times.
The other baits i use are grasshoppers, dragonfly nimphs, or maggots. I must say tho i dont realy bother anymore as i find lures and fly fishing more interesting and just as productive.
