Manta Rays

Monday saw us heading out on the boat for a snorkel with the resident Manta Rays. It was National Geographic sort of stuff. Bloody awesome. We were as close as five metres at one stage and they didn't seem to care at all. We ended the session being towed behind the boat over the top of the mantas closest to the surface. We'll be taking the dive gear next time.....

I'm a WA boy and I'm currently live in Pohnpei for the next three years. Loving it. The fishing is pretty good and there are heaps of other things to do aswell.

Last time I had the boat in out from the Blowhole's camping area there were about 15-20 in 30foot of chrystal clear water doing there thing.Coming right up to touching range, was magic, but alas these things always happen when there is no camera on board.

Same thing happened to me last week with some whales. From now one of the first things packed will be the camera and underwater camera case.

Yeah Mate, Nic was in the water right beside me. She is keener than ever to dive with them as well. She loves the diving and snorkeling over here.
