work around the rock bar at balla balla for black dhu(mulloway) if you get them in there numbers on a good in tide u will have some fun. barra should be starting around that time. depends how many warm days they get in september. the water needs to warm a little. u will get jacks, thredies and many creek fish. there some big gutters there but u need to check the tides there. take lots of bug spray, sand flies can ruin a trip if you sticking to the groves

Try the mouth of Finucane

Sun, 2009-05-24 19:45

Try the mouth of Finucane island about 200-300 metres left of the boatramp is a spot called picket fences, can only really be fished an hour each side of the low on a big tide from shore but produces good barra and threadies consistently. you'll know if your in the right spot cos you'll see an old trolley in the mud.Wink

The town jetty in port behind sealanes produces black jew after dark.

And as has been said some good black jew on the rock bar at Balla boat ramp.

Nothing beats live mullet!
