Popper outfit pe5

Hi guys I'm after a pe5 popper outfit not keen to break the bank too much on this one however

i think rods are pretty straight forward have been looking at...

- daiwa demon blood 803xxh

- demon blood 762x

- Wilson live fibre venom 7'6 pe5 spin popper

- tcurve offshore 802 stickbait

- shimano terez spin 7'8 heavy / xheavy

- shimano ocea offshore 802 stickbait

- daiwa Catalina ch79s.n (although may be a bit pricey )

reels are really where I'm struggling to decide

I understand weight is important and that's what is putting me off reels like the saltist 6500 but then the 4500 is not really a 50lb reel?!

should I be looking at something like the shimano spheros or Saragossa?

or a twinpower

and what sizes. Catalina 5000 would be ideal but out of my price range unfortunately

cheers

turts

Have a look at the samaki absynth. Plus if u can hang out for a few weeks keep an eye out for the new ecooda hornet range of reels. Carbo drag washers producing huge drag power straight out of the box, comes standard
With a big Eva ball knob and won't break the bank. I'm currently product testing the ecooda range and can't fault any of theyere reels

Few questions that might help give an answer

What weight poppers are you planning to cast?

Are you planning to actually run PE5 line? Or lighter/heavier? - this just from a spool capacity issue

For use from boat or shore?

What is the target species?

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

 Thanks guys

wade ill keep an eye out for those you mentioned ta mate!

@ dkonig it's for use out of boat. Mainly chasing kingfish here in south oz mostly shallow coastal waters so need a bit of grunt. Main lures are Williston jet poppers and yozuri sashimi bills to give you an idea on size and weight. I'm wanting to run 50lb breaking strain so I suppose diameters vary but would probably settle on some tufline pe or similar....
