Popper Rod

Hi all,

Looking at some rod suggestions around the 9-10 foot mark (2pc) for something I can comfortably flick poppers and slices all day.

Will be good for hunting tailor and then onto the salmon season, too tiring using the 12 footer.

cheers

I reckon you can't go past the Rovex Bario 6810 ...... most under-rated and underpriced rod for its quality on the market .

lol ... me giving recommendations on gear ha ha hahahahahaha

Nah, seriously, it's shit hot :)

Lemax do a range of nice 9ft and 10ft graphite rods as well as Xzoga Mastery Surf rods. They are superlight and responsive.

light sensor surf will do it

light sensor surf will do it either that or get a hold of the xzoga mastery rod as mentioned in the above reply.
cheaper options would be to track down one of the pennspinfisher 10ft rods now made by rovex this is what my girlfriend uses and she never gets tired light as.

same Brenz, only now have Rovex Bario on them. Think they just know as the '6810'

seen some good fish landed with them

Go the Rovex. The 12 footer isn't bad either.

I was considering something

I was considering something like the SSX 902.

Is there really that much difference in ease of use between a 10 and 12 footer?

Would like to keep the price low.

big difference between 12

big difference between 12 footer and 10 footer. about 2 feet actually!

but you will feel the pinch in the bottom of your back alot more with the 12 footers ( they also tend to have the reel seat up higher on them). 10 footers cast a mile if the tip has enough flex in it. One my fav rods is daiwa firewolf 10 footer 2 piece, rated to 15kg. I use it for poppers and would much prefer it over a 12 footer.

Where will you be casting the poppers?, Beach, Boat, Rocks?

wicksey , as mentioned xzoga do a very nice 10 footer, that rovex bario is also a very nice rod and not a bad price, and theres a heap of options thruout the lemax range as well, atm we have a fair few lemax rods that will suit what you need also
