Nice to hear. no need to slaughter them or Gaf them if intending to release. Just need to get yourself prepared for the situation and have the right tools. I always carry some heavy duty super long nosed pliers and rope for shark fishing. I dont want my hands anywhere near there mouths when taking hooks out, and a rope around the tail helps to drag/control the shark.

I have hooked up to a number of them down Wanbro area. However, they really are all over the place. I suspect that choice of bait and presentation are the key factors you need to consider. Big dead Baits, such as herring or Bontito would work well.. circle hooks that are well exposed too.

I would think catching one at e shed means either you cut the line and leave about 10m of line hanging off them or gaff them up to the wharf level which isnt great.  Sure this happens a fair bit as they are bycatch for lots of anglers

Better off fishing the beaches for them if targetting as they are never hooked to deep usually just around the outside of the mouth and can be handled easily off the beach as compared to a whark/jetty or rocks.

Berly up and use oily baits as bungel said
