Reports obtained by speaking to those staying in the caravan park was that a stray fast swimming creature picked up a bait out the front of Abbey Beach resort (not mine unfortunately) and it left the scene in a hurry. The rod was setup for whiting and the drag possibly too tight. It was short lived excitement and some tackle was lost. Poor fella, would have hated to tell him there was half a chance it was a Mulloway, but likely a stray resident salmon.
Weather was crap and too windy for a serious scout. Even with polarized sunnies I would have been wasting time with the whitecaps.

Calling it as it is!
To be honest mate , as we fish for them on the south coast, I dont look much at salmon reports anymore , cause since the salmon lic by back ,
we have had 3 or 4 brilliant years on the coast , anywhere from Esperance to black point.( and anytime from now to prob end may, begin june
when the storms break them up)
In a not talked about much success , I believe the numbers are better now than in the last 30 years , ( when we first fished for them)
My few attempts on the west coast have found fussier fish , and in lower numbers.
IN SAYING THAT , THE SOUTH COAST IS TOO WINDY, SO DONT GO THERE, VERY VERY BAD PLACE.

Will be in busso next weekend
Will go for a scout and see if there are any breakaway schools leading the peloton.
Won't be looking much further south than Mitchells Rock though. Will post up if I see any, or better yet catch any.
Still probably early.

A few Residents.
There was a small school of salmon at Rocky Point At Bunkers Bay last week but they were probably resident salmon and not part of the migration.

Not much to report from the weekend.

Nothing else to report sorry!

Been quite a few caught in the bay this year.
