Some more 585 questions.. specific settings this time
Hi all
have a few more 585 questions for those who have/ had one and know them well and could help out with please... Finally about the put mine on the boat and know that it will take some experimenting with to get things right, but any info/ advice that could help me hit the ground running would be really appreciated...
Basically, Im after some advice on the best settings to do a couple of different things:
1) Normal scouting around in both shallow (10-20m) and medium (50-80m) depths at around 8-12knts while trolling
and
2) Higher speed scouting when moving between spots etc at between 20-30knts (also, it is feasable to expect to pick up schools of/ small pockets of fish when travelling at these speeds with the correct set up in anywhere from 20-80m? I have a Tm260 transom mount tranny)
I have had a search of the archives on here, and found a couple of sets of settings (thanks harro and grayzee) (see below) and I am assuming these are for reading at slower speeds?
Again... thanks for any advice/ info anyone can help with...

1st tip, don't paste from word ;)
Seeing bait at 30kn, that sounds exceptionally hopeful with any setup, although some will show you the bottom at those speeds, shallow, and with a good transducer setup.

If you want to sound and
If you want to sound and hopefully pick up bait/fish at speed , I have found it necessary to run chart speed 4/1 and gain up.
Always changing chart speed to match boat speed and shift amount.
(in regards to shift and bottom lock ,I've moved closer to Harro's settings for finding ground)
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.
