I am wanting to buy a rob allen flasher and am not sure which one to grab as there are a few, has any one got any advice on their preffered flasher?

You could make one
You could make one Ryan, I would just use a float, some thin cord or heavy mono with a weight on the bottom. Attatch some CD's or similar , at about $30 its alot cheeper . I know the Rob Allen flasher's are top quality but could get costly if a fish decides to grab it and wreck it .

We use what grantarctic suggests and seems to attract fish. Glue your cds back to back and make sure you weight the bottom of the flasher.
Just remember to pull the flasher in when leaving dive spot haha speaking from experience :)

So on a reasonably related note, Is this one of those things that all the spearo's in the know have in their kit ? Do they work ? I'm just the type of idiot to sit there trying to make my own Flasher out of CD's and thing gauge wire - only to lose it or have a retarded shark think it'd be tasty.

Thats the point hamo, Why lose a $100 teaser to a shark or Mackie when you can make one for a third of the cost.
As far as i have seen , they work almost as well as a bought one , just flash it up as much as you can.
Yeah they work for the right species, King fish and sambo's luv em, try one it won't catch you less fish that's for sure .
