spear fishing hedland

hey fellas

Im new to the sport..I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for spearing off of Port Hedland

Also any tips or advice would be more than appreciated

Hey Jamie, doesn't look like too many people have dived around Hedland eh. Spose the best thing to do is try and keep away from them bities. Have a look at pilbarabrad's threads he does heap of diving in Karratha, some of his pic's might give you some kinda indication. Dont know if you have a boat but that Island out from whim creek looks like a classic spot. But a long way from home if something happens.

Yea i have a boat so ill have to give it a go 1 of these week ends! Ill definately keep Karratha in mind too..

Diving off Hedland

The only spot I can think of is about 2 mile west of the No 1 marker,its a fair drive out there and low tide would have to be the go.Haven't dived it but have fished that area and done ok
Ring up FITMECH.a welding company up there and ask for Graham Slater,his son does quite a bit and would probably willing to give advice or ask at the local dive shop

i've dived there at Little Turtle Island - about 40km's straight out for trout and crays.

a good close spot is behind Weerdie Island - green crays and odd bluebone and trout.
