stone fish

caught a stone fish today wondering if anyone has stood on one or been pricked by one while fishing thank god i had pointy nose's with me
a guy down the river wanted to keep it to eat by that time it was already swimmin awya are they edible?

My son trod on one in pretty
My son trod on one in pretty pool a couple of years ago. Couple of days in hospital wasn't much fun.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Small lagoon
in Denham is where you get them also, signs are up warning people but you dont see many people wearing shoes.

Trust me dont step on one
Pretty nasty stonustoxin in them there spines. And it may ruin more than your day although we havent got a documented lethal case in Oz waters, but aboriginal culture dance a "death by stonefish" dance.
I have treated stonefish envenomation, and dont like to see grown men cry like babies. It bloody must hurt. The toxin is a mixture of all sorts, with the lethal (potentially) part being the stonustoxin.
