Just saw this on facebook looks like Seafish still want to persist with the supertrawler:
BREAKING NEWS - SUPERTRAWLER Could Go Fishing,
Seafish Tasmania are seeking to have the supertrawler "reclassified" to avoid the government's recently announced fishing ban on supertrawlers. When is a supertrawler not a supertrawler?
We'll keep you posted on any developments. Share this as we may need some action to stop this monster AGAIN!

Our government
of the day needs to realise that these overseas countrys that deplete their food/fish supplies should be made to manage the population growth and food supply in their backyard and not expect Australia or any other country to keep propping them up.
Might sound a bit selfish but when is enough enough.

other countries have plundered their stocks of fish now they have their sights on Australias well managed fisheries and by using smoke and mirrors (and a lot of cash) they intend to rape and pillage our fish. It never ceases to amaze me how our own country men will sell everything there is to foreign counties be it large tracks of land (cuddie station) to what ever. Come the day when a foreigner comes down to the fence line and says in a heavely accented voice bugger off i own this property it will be to late then and all the greedy types who have no notion of pride will be able to say to their grand kids i remember when australia was owned by australian residents/citizens. i think it was in last weeks friday funnies a joke about an aboriginial saying to a white australian whilst looking at a boat load of foreign people it's no laughing matter now is it. and he is bloody well right !

Buying up our rural land
is not on by foriegners, especially when the land ends up as a tourist destination and becomes NON- Productive.
Taking huge amounts of bait fish by the likes of these Super Trawlers needs to be ceased World Wide.
All bait fish are the main stay of the ocean and should not be taken for human consumption. That's JMO.
